The new Lufthansa Business Class seat* transforms into an almost 2-metre-long, fully flat bed – ideal if you wish to relax during a long flight. Premium Economy Class
Lufthansa will be offering you a new travel experience between Business Class and Economy Class on long-haul flights. Whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, you will enjoy more personal space, more service and more extras. So you'll be able to enjoy a thoroughly relaxing journey – both on the ground and on board. Their fleet of Boeing 747-8s will be the first to be fitted with the new Premium Economy seats – they expect these retrofitted aircraft to fly in the winter 2014/2015 timetable from Frankfurt to the following destinations: Beijing, Buenos Aires, Chicago, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Mumbai, São Paulo, Seoul and Washington, D.C. From the end of January 2015 they expect their first Airbus 340-600s with Premium Economy Class on board to take off from Munich to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo: from the end of April the A380s will then probably fly from Frankfurt to Houston, Johannesburg, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Shanghai and Singapore. By the late summer of 2015 it is expected that you will be able to enjoy the benefits of the new Premium Economy Class on the entire Lufthansa long-haul fleet.
On short and medium-haul routes you'll enjoy plenty of room. In Economy Class, too, the slim construction of the seat backs provides greater leg room, making it easier for you to stretch your legs. On long-haul routes a seat cushion width of over 40 cm, as well as the individually adjustable headrests on every seat, ensure your comfort.
Lufthansa Inflight Entertainment stands for first-class entertainment on board. As well as the latest Hollywood blockbusters and popular classics, passengers will be able to enjoy a large choice of 'modern classics' – cinema highlights from the last few years.On Lufthansa long-haul flights you'll enjoy more content with the choice of movies doubling to 100 films in up to eight languages. TV programmes increased to 200, even greater choice for families and children with at least 10 films and more than 20 TV programmes, plus many audio books and music CDs, and 300 music CDs on board: an excellent selection which includes the popular categories 'RockPop', 'Greatest Hits' and 'Classical', among others.
Lufthansa transports a certain amount of checked-in baggage ('free baggage') and hand luggage free of charge. These amounts may vary depending on the route, booking class, Miles & More member status, etc. The permitted free baggage allowance is determined by the service class booked and the status of the passenger and is shown on the ticket/Passenger Receipt.
